BLOGGING IN BEIJING #7I-Miss-U.S.A.: Adjusting to the Time Change
I have officially been here a month now, and am still not used to the time change!
For the first time ever, I MISSED the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Selection Show. (No seriously, I have seen that show LIVE every year that I can remember because I absolutely LOVE college basketball and the whole tournament process.) I missed the show because of my own time-zone foul up. I am 13 hours ahead of the Central Time Zone (i.e. Illinois and Texas), so my night is your day, and my day is your night. The Big Ten Conference Championship is always on Sunday afternoon, but on Sunday night, I watched a semifinal matchup on AXN-TV. So naturally, I thought I had another day before the Selection Show. WRONG!
I now know most sports programming in China is tape-delayed, even though it doesn't say it on the screen. Besides, why would a basketball game we played on a Sunday morning?!
However, I didn't know for sure if the Selection Show was even being shown here in China anyway, so maybe I saved myself some sleep!

You guys and your sports! Josh requested his trip into the Andes be delayed one day so he could watch the Superbowl. (Request was granted.)
Thanks for keeping us posted, how's the job going?
